CARE TIPS

How to take care of gold and silver:

Keep the pieces in dry natural fabric to make sure they don’t scratch against each other, that they don’t fall or get exposed to a humid atmosphere.

If the piece bares a gem or a pearl, or has a plating, please take it off when you enjoy the water, be it a bath, sea, shower sprinkles. Also it is suggestible to spray your perfume on before putting on the jewel.

You could also use a special liquid or home solution with a more acidic base, like vinegar or lemon, to keep the silver shiny and clean out the tarnish. It is interesting how people with more acidic ph polish and keep their jewellery white naturally, whilst other people make their silver jewellery darker. The country’s water ph or atmospheric humidity can also influence its state. If you live in Iceland and you are not a fan of a tarnished silver, maybe it would be better to consider gold options.

My jewellery comes with a piece of natural fabric that surrounds the piece gently. A special cotton cloth that is impregnated in polishing powder can also be purchased. When you use it and rub the piece, it could leave some black stains on the cloth, meaning that the particles have been activated.

TRICK

Soak a piece in a mixture of 1/2 cups of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking

soda for two to three hours (don't rub). Rinse it under cold water and

dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
