CARE TIPS
How to take care of gold and silver
Keep the pieces in dry natural fabric to make sure they don’t scratch with each other, don’t fall down or get too humid atmosphere.
If the piece bares a gem or a pearl, or has a plating, please take it off when you enjoy the water, be it a bath, sea, shower sprinkles. Also it is suggestible to use perfume before putting the jewellery on.
You could also use a special liquid or home solutions with more acidic base, like vinegar or lemon to keep the silver shiny and clean out the tarnish. It’s interesting how people with more acidic ph polish and keep their jewellery white, and some people always make their silver jewellery darker. The country’s water ph or atmosphere humidity can also influence. If you live in Iceland, and not a fan of a tarnished silver, maybe it’s better to consider gold options.
My jewelry comes with natural fabric cloth that surrounds gently the piece. A special cotton cloth that is impregnated in the polishing powder could be purchased. When you use it and rub the piece, it could leave some black stains on the cloth, meaning that the particles got activated.
TRICK
Soak a piece in a mixture of 1/2 cups of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking
soda for two to three hours (don't rub). Rinse it under cold water and
dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
